Hushe Valley – Starting Point of World Highest Mountains Treks

Hushe valley starts from the Shyok River which is on the opposite side of Khaplu. The valley extends up to the Masherbrum Mountain. From Khaplu up to Hushe, there are many villages in the valley and Hushe village is the last one there. It is also the starting point of many treks. The village is in the Ghangche District of GB and it is the highest place in the remote valley. The place is very popular among trekkers as it offers amazing trekking and climbing experience. Mountaineers who visit GB also come to visit Hushe Valley to have a superb time there. There are some of the highest mountains in this valley and some of the peaks are 6000 m and even 8000 m high.

The valley is at altitudes between 2,800 and 3,500 meters. Life there is quite complicated but people are self-sufficient.  The local people of the valley work as the chefs and they cook for the guests and visitors.  If you are planning to visit the valley, you must have Hushe info. You must know about the weather there. The area has very harsh weather conditions especially in winter when the temperature reaches -15 and -20ºC. There is also a lack of technological facilities and even electricity. So tourists must be aware of trekking, mountaineering, and traveling activities. After having a great time in Hushe, trekkers usually choose Hushe to Skardu which is the largest city in Baltistan. Skardu offers epic views of Nanga Parbat and other huge peaks. There is a lot for the visitors to explore in the city and the markets. Tourists can also visit Khurpucho fort as it is one of the places to visit. Usually, it takes jeep travel from hushe to Skardu or vice versa. Before you start your trip, make sure you carry every important thing with you. You must take some extra warm clothing as trekking and exploring may require your extra clothes. Some other things that you may need include a rain jacket, some personal items, a water bottle, etc. If you want to make memories, don’t forget to take a camera with you. The typical trek months are from June to September and the weather in Skardu is usually colder during these months. Take care of your health even before you start your journey.
